ORGANIC GARDENS

Organic is such a buzz word now and an area the profiteers are focused on. Even the word organic is grossly misused on products and labeling.

The idea that just because it was grown locally or by a smaller farm, does not mean it is organic. I am building a farm in our local area, with the help of the Department of Agriculture, to grow under their definition of organic. But even as I do, I see that so much is being ignored in the exposure to plastics and other areas that do not fall under DOA's enforcement.

For this blog, let's agree that when we say organic, we are looking for ways to find food that is not exposed to anything that is not of this earth.

This include hydroponic designs and odd systems that are not old fashioned gardening.
If we do look at these items,  we will look at the real good and bad so you can determine if the threshold of exposure is acceptable to you and your family. We all have to compromise somewhat it seems due to the fact that there are just so many things we are trying to do in a short period of time. But we will be honest about that compromise.
